Dr. Tianna Heppner is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she received her Doctorate of Music in Viola Performance. She completed both her Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees in Viola Performance at the University of Nevada, Reno.

 

She currently is a Faculty member of the Music Department of Porterville College in Porterville, California. Prior to PC, she has been a faculty member of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; a faculty member of the College of Southern Nevada (in Las Vegas); and a faculty member of Lassen College in Susanville, California.

 

She has performed throughout the world. Presently, she performs with Lady Gaga in her Las Vegas Residency of Lady Gaga: Piano and Jazz. She has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with performers such as Celine Dion, Seth McFarlane, Ricky Martin, and Barbra Streisand, to name a few. She is also a regular performer on the Las Vegas Strip, including being a member of the Showstoppers Orchestra at the Wynn Las Vegas, the Phantom of the Opera and the Venetian and the Lion King at Mandalay Bay

 

Her students have had recent recognition as Las Vegas Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition Winners, the Henderson Symphony Concerto competition winners, All-State Orchestra Participants, Las Vegas Youth Orchestra members, Honor Orchestra Participants, Superior ratings at all levels of Solo and Ensemble and have been awarded Partial or Full-Tuition College Scholarships.

She also owns Heppner Music Publishing. Originally, HMP was founded to give viola professionals and students much-needed repertoire for the viola. Often, most of the common teaching literature used for students has been transcribed from violin material, without accounting for unique problems of the viola. Unfortunately, that material does not generally teach or lend itself to proper viola technique or sound. Since its inception, HMP has expanded into literature for ensembles. The literature is being published primarily as Flex Parts, meaning the music can be performed by any combination of instruments.
